September 6, 2010

It's just Tracy and I now. We got a new roommate, a liftie from the US, but she just hurt her foot and has to go back home for surgery. Angel will be back this week and Paz will be back for a few days at the end of the month. Trace and I have done a big sweep of cleaning. Our apartment is now super clean and looks amazing. We tossed like half of the food and switched TVs so now we have a flat screen which gives us much more space. We also cleaned out both cleaning rooms at the two properties. We're good to go! We're pretty awesome at cleaning and working too. Where the boys would give up and call it a day, we just keep working. We've both worked 60+ hours this week. We are completely exhausted after work, so we cook dinner and hide in our rooms for a few ours before going to bed at like 930-10. We are lame. Making great money, but lame.

Last week was my last day working at Frostbite on the mountain. I told the boss that I was hoping to finish soon because we'd be short handed, and he said that he was going to tell me not to worry about coming in anyway because they get crazy slow come September (CANNOT believe it's September already! Wow!). Counted all the money I saved from that.. it was all cash, so I hid it away and didn't spend a dime of it. $1000!! Awesome! That's the emergency fund… unless someone steals it now that I'm broadcasting that it's here.

We got this amazing snowfall a few weeks back so we got crazy bookings making us crazy busy this past weekend, this week, and next weekend. Since it's just Trace and I, we're extra busy. Normally, that means crazy busy cleaning, but during the day everyone would be out skiing. WELL, we had this insane RAINfall the other day, so much rain, so half of the mountain is completely melted and the top half is slushy or icy. Pretty much crap. We've had guests leaving early or staying in, giving us hell. Sucks for all of those in this week haha. We got into the lodge Saturday morning to find some 35-ish year old guy passed out on the floor in the lobby, cereal smashed all up the stairs, alcohol poured all over walls, in the tubs of cereal, and in the hot water urn. Killer. When I went to service the room of the guy passed out, he was looking up places to eat and asked me if I wanted to go with him or if I wanted to climb into his bed haha. I told him that I was extra busy because someone poured alcohol all over the dining room and threw cereal all down the stairs. He insisted it wasn't him and kept harassing Trace and I, just stupid banter, hilarious convos. He was pretty awesome. He and his roommate's single beds were extra close to each other, so he said that he had his first homosexual encounter last night and needed one of us to make him feel hetero again. Later, cleaning the house next to the lodge, he kept calling my mobile (which I posted at reception at the lodge) to come back and help him fix the TV or give him an umbrella. I went to fix the TV and he was on the bed in a towel. He walked over to me at the TV and DROPPED HIS TOWEL! I can safely say that I didn't see anything as my attention was on the TV and intentionally not on his towel. He pulled the "oops, my towel fell". I laughed and said that I thought it was time I left. At like 3am I got like 5 calls from him before I turned my phone off. This morning they were leaving and said that their ceiling was leaking. I went to check it out and they were all still in bed, hung over, but sure enough, big hole in the ceiling. They didn't seem to care about the hole, only that I needed to climb into bed with them again. Whatever. They checked out and I was off cleaning a room so I sent a text saying that I was upset that they didn't say bye. He called and said that he was still in Thredbo and that he'd come straight back if I would sleep with him in one of the rooms I hadn't cleaned yet. Too funny. He was fairly cute, old, but cute, but I'm not that girl, and it wasn't going to happen. While cleaning their room we found a bottle of Rum, which smelled exactly like the stuff that was poured all over the dining room. I sent him a text staying that it was the "strangest thing" that we found a bottle of alcohol that smelled just like the stuff all over the walls. He still insisted it wasn't him haha. By far the coolest guests we've had this season.

MTV was here a few weeks back for a boarding comp and concert. The roadies stayed at the lodge and were super cute. One was definitely a charmer and milked it. I gave him extra food vouchers and helped him move stuff to the drying room. I cleaned up after him and was just super friendly. He was cute, but that had nothing to do with it, I'm just good at my job ;) Anyway, I missed most of the comp, but the concert was a bunch of Aussie bands I don't know of. Bliss N Eso, which are pretty big here. They are the Aussie version of Eminiem; not my kind of music, but pretty good. Big night drinking afterward. SO much fun! It wasn't sloppy drunk, but certainly REALLY drunk. We went to the night club and danced all night long. The next morning we all felt like shit. It was a big cleaning day but we were so hung over. I don't even get hung over but I felt miserable all day long. The 4 of us took 4 hours to do a job that usually takes 2 people 2hrs. That awesome. Long long day. By 7pm we were all in our own rooms watching TV or movies about to pass out. So worth it though.

Oh, we've been cooking. All the free food we find just sits in our fridge so we've been trying to come up with fun stuff. We made the most killer sandwiches the other day. Good bread, lunch mean (I can't tell you the last time I ate lunch meat), good cheese, avo, lettuce, tomato. Sooo good! We made a vegetable and cheese bake today. Pad Thai tomorrow, left over Curry last night with chocolate mousse for dessert. We have heaps of fetta so we're going to cook up something with that if we can find a good recipe.

Got all my money saved for travels. Should be killer. I'm just getting extra now. I'll book stuff for the wedding in Mexico in January, then spend away. YAY! Guess that's all for now. Hopefully more fun will be had soon. Doubtful because of the work, but we'll see.
